The Ophelia Cut by John Lescroart
I don't know how I missed this one last year as I'm a big fan of the "Dismas Hardy" series by John Lescroart. But I snapped it up when I saw it on the library shelf and couldn't wait to dive in.
San Francisco lawyer Dismas Hardy is faced with one of his toughest cases when his brother-in-law Moses McGuire is accused of killing the man who raped his daughter Brittany. Even Hardy isn't sure whether or not Moses actually did it--or if he wouldn't have done the same thing if it had been his daughter. There's also a subplot about an ex-cop named Tony who's in witness protection and ends up becoming a client of Hardy's, then way too quickly becoming entwined in his personal life. Another great story by John Lescroart.
