This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page

 This book is charming and sad and touching and funny, and I read the whole thing in one day. Tilly Nightingale has just lost her beloved husband, Joe, to cancer, and she is having a hard time dealing with the grief. One day, she gets a call from a guy named Alfie, who owns the local bookshop. He tells her she has a gift waiting for her at the shop. She goes over there and finds out that Joe had met with Alfie before his death to arrange for Tilly to receive a gift book from him every month for the next year, to help her move on with her life after he was gone.

The novel tells how the 12 books impact Tilly's life, give her confidence to find a new path, and spark a friendship with Alfie. If you love to read, you will love this book (and it will make you want to support your local independent bookstore).
