This Changes Everything by Lisa Scottoline

 Julia is an American living in Tuscany with her Italian husband and young daughter. One day she gets a strong feeling that she should call her best friend in America, Courtney. Courthney is at her grandma's house getting ready to enter when Julia (who sometimes has pyschic feelings) senses that something is seriously wrong. Courtney opens the door and finds her grandmother's body on the floor--and a man fleeing out the back door. Julia heads to Pennsylvania to help Courtney deal with her grandmother's death, but soon Courtney herself gets arrested for the murder, even though there is no evidence. Enter Bennie Rosato, a lawyer from another of Scottoline's series, to help Courtney.

Julia keeps trying to investigate what is really going on and uncovers way more nefariousness than she was expecting. She has also put herself in danger, much to the dismay of her husband and increasingly distraught daughter (who may also have psychic tendencies).

It's a good story on its own. I'm not sure that all the psychic stuff adds anything to the basic plot. I was glad to see Bennie again. I've missed the lawyers at her all-woman law firm in Philly.
