Movie review: One Day

I don't know what to make of One Day. It wasn't what I expected at all and the "bouncing from year to year" concept made it a little hard to get a good handle on the main characters. Ann Hathaway and Jim Sturgess were good. And the scenery is beautiful. But I guess I didn't really connect with the characters.

I own the book on which the movie is based but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'm guessing, based on another book by David Nicholls (A Question of Attraction) that I read and loved, that there is a lot more humor in the book than there was in the movie.
(The movie could have used a little more humor)

All in all, didn't love it, didn't hate it. Worth a matinee price but not worth full price.
