Movie review: Crazy Stupid Love
Why did I like Crazy Stupid Love? Let me count the ways:
1. The main couple was over 40 and not teenagers (though I have to say, the teenage son (Jonah Bobo) was my favorite character in the whole movie).
2. We genuinely cared what happened to the characters, even the straying wife who set everything in motion.
3. There were some interesting plot twists and turns that I should have seen coming but didn't.
4. Emma Stone is adorable.
5. The girl who plays her best friend (Liza Lapira) is hilarious.
6. Marisa Tomei was great in what was essentially a pretty small (but memorable) part.
7. The writer didn't make Julianne Moore's character the villain even though she broke Steve Carrell's character's heart.
8. The girl who played the babysitter (Analeigh Tipton) was perfectly cast.
9. There were some truly funny scenes.
10. How can you hate a movie in which the main message is that true love really exists?
No, it wasn't a perfect movie but it was a likable movie and definitely worth a matinee price.
