Inside Job (movie review)

Inside Job is a fascinating documentary on the causes of the current economic downturn. The film makers explain how greed, risk taking, duplicity and decreases in regulation led to the mortgage crisis, the failure of companies such as Bear-Stearns and high unemployment. They also open our eyes to the vast amounts of money at play--and to the unbelievable salaries and bonuses of the players. After watching the interviews, I had the feeling that many of the people whose actions led to the collapse don't think they did anything wrong--which doesn't bode well for the future. And by the end of the film, I was left with a feeling of anger that no one was really punished for taking such foolish risks--and destroying so many people's lives.
