Black List by Brad Thor

Black List is a scary book--not in the "things that go bump in the night" or vampire attack kind of scary but scary in the sense that it seems like it really could happen. In a note at the beginning of the book, Thor notes that most of the technology he discusses either already exists or is in the final stages of development. Black List picks up right where Full Black ended. Counter-terrorism agent Scott Horvath is in Paris on a job for the Carlton Group when suddenly he and his partner Riley are under attack. When he tries to call in to other members of the Carlton Group, no one responds, including Old Man Carlton himself. Scott has to use all his wits and the few trustworthy contacts he has left to get himself back home and figure out what's going on. He finds out he's on a list of people targeted for assassination by a mysterious group called ATS--for supposed treason. When he realizes what their ultimate plan is, he knows he must do everything in his power to stop it--or else life as we know it will change forever. The action is nonstop and the premise really gives you something to think about.
