Right Behind You is part of a series, which I have just discovered.
It's quite the nail biter. The story starts with a young boy killing his own drunken father to save his baby sister then fast forwards to him being the main suspect in his foster parents' murders. Everyone is convinced he's guilty, but his sister (now being adopted by law enforcement types, Rainie and Quincy), is not so sure.
