After the War is Over by Jennifer Robson

After the War is Over is a sequel of sorts to Somewhere in France. In the first book, battlefield ambulance driver Lilly falls in love with surgeon Robbie during World War I. In this book, we learn more about the characters of Charlotte (Lilly's best friend, who was a nurse during the war) and Lilly's brother Edward, a soldier who was badly injured during the war. The second book was more of a straight story and less of a romance novel (than the first book), which I liked. All of the characters  in these 2 books--Lilly, Robbie, Charlotte, and Edward--are likeable and admirable. And it's an interesting time period to learn more about.
