The Hallmarked Man by Robert Galbraith

I love the characters of Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellicot. I have followed the adventures of their London detective agency from the very first book. And this book was a lot better than the last two, which were impossible to follow. But Galbraith's editor ought to tell her that sometimes pithier is better. This book clocks in at over 900 pages. And has the most convoluted plot I have seen probably since the last Robin and Strike book. By the end, when they had solved the case, I still wasn't quite sure who all those people were. So I was mostly reading to see what happened with Robin and Strike--and whether they would ever admit that they were in love with each other.

So in short: Better than the most recent books in the series but still too long and still way too complicated of a plot.
