Before the Fall by Noah Hawley
This is the best nail-biter I have read in a long time.
It starts with a private plane crashing into the ocean off Martha's Vineyard. Only 2 people survive--a painter (who was a casual acquaintance of the wife of the rich man who owned the plane) and the rich man's 4-year-old son.
The chapters after the crash are interspersed with scenes from before the crash to scenes involving the investigation into the crash--and the out-of-control news coverage (because there were 2 very wealthy men onboard). Couldn't put it down--read the whole thing in 24 hours.
