Two Nights in Lisbon by Chris Pavone
I have read other books by Chris Pavone and really loved them so I was looking forward to Lisbon. It has a great premise: a woman wakes up in a hotel room in Lisbon and realizes her husband is gone without a trace. She goes to the police, then the American Embassy, but can't convince anyone that this is serious. I liked the beginning and the end of the book, but thought the middle kind of dragged. Part of the problem was that I didn't particularly like Ariel, the wife, though by time we get the full story of her life, I felt more sympathetic toward her. There were some interesting secondary characters throughout the story.
