Battle Mountain by CJ Box

 This is the latest in the always enjoyable Joe Pickett series. Joe gets a call from the governor asking him to help track down his son in law, whom the gov had pressured into signing up as an assistant guide for an elk hunting expedition, but who seems to be missing.  Joe teams up with the new local game warden, Susan Kany, to find out where the son in law is. At the same time, Joe's best friend Nate and fellow falconcer Geronimo Jones are on the hunt for the evil Axel Soledad, who killed Nate's wife and burned down Geronimo's house. Since they're all wandering around on different parts of Battle Mountain, their paths are destined to cross. Quite the page-turner. I do love Joe's feisty wife and daughters.
