The Guest Cottage by Nancy Thayer

It was a stressful week and I was just in the mood for some good fluff.  The Guest Cottage fit the bill nicely.

Sophie, thirty-something mother of two, is stunned to find that her husband wants a divorce. She decides to take some money left by her favorite aunt and rent a cottage on Nantucket for the summer with her kids to figure out what to do with her life. Trevor, a twenty-something widower with a young son, also needs a break and rents a cottage on Nantucket for the summer. Of course, it's the same cottage (which is actually a pretty big house). The two adults both really need a break from real life so they decide to all stay in the cottage together and hope for the best. What follows are days at the beach, bouts of the flu, visiting family and friends--and the members of both families drawing closer as the summer progresses.

Sure, it's a fantasy that the kids from both sides would hit it off. And that Sophie's teenage son would bond with Trevor, while Trevor's young son was bonding with Sophie. But you could see there was going to be a happy ending, and that's just what I was in the mood for.
