The Beige Man by Helene Tursten
The Beige Man is another in the "Inspector Huss" mystery series set in Sweden--a series I have recently discovered and am enjoying immensely.
Irene Huss is a police detective, mother of twins, wife of a chef. Her current caseload involves the hit-and-run death of a former cop and the discovery of a young girl's body--which turns out to be related to a sex-trafficking ring. As part of the case, Irene ends up taking a hair-raising trip to the Canary Islands to follow up what may be a link to her Swedish investigation.
Good story, good characters, good ambiance--you really do feel like you're suffering through a wickedly cold Swedish winter with Irene.
