 This is the sequel to the charming Dear Mrs Bird, set in London during WW2. Our plucky heroine, Emmy Lake, is still working for a woman's magazine, though she is now largely in charge of the advice column.  While on a train with her best friend Bunty, she meets a woman named Anne, who is a widow and mother heading off to work in a munitions factory. Emmy asked if she'd liked to be interviewed for a story. This interaction sets Emmy off on a path to improve working conditions for women who are part of the war effort. At the same time, Emmy is seeing her romance with the dashing Charles evolve, leading to one wacky wedding day. This is a delightful series and I can't wait to see what happens next.
