Beach Town by Mary Kay Andrews

I was looking for something from the library that I could check out on my Kindle without having to hike over to the library and found an MK Andrews book I hadn't read yet. Beach Town tells the story of movie location scout Greer who is charged with find a down-on-its-luck town in Florida to use as the setting for a new movie. She finally finds one and makes all the arrangements. But the director is a little out of control with wild (and expensive) ideas. The script isn't completely finished due to the writer's lingering drug problem, and the star of the movie is a singer who has never acted before. What could go wrong? In short, pretty much everything. I did have to admire Greer's persistence and energy as she juggled a million movie-related balls at the same time, got involved in an off-and-on romance with someone in the Florida town, and had to manage the aging father she hadn't seen since she was a little girl. You really hope this girl finds a happy ending.
