The Silent Wife by Karin Slaughter

 This is a very violent part of the Will Trent Saga. Since I started watching the new TV show, I wanted to find the books it was based on. But I'm finding the TV show and the books don't have much in common except for Will, his partner Faith, and his boss Amanda. 

Someone has been attacking, drugging, paralyzing, then raping young women in Georgia. And Will and his girlfriend, medical examiner Sara, are on the case. There are a lot of gruesome details about how these women suffered and died, plus Will and Sara are having issues in their romantic relationship, so this was kind of a slog to get through. But I do love the characters of Will and Faith, so I will keep seeking out the rest of the books in this series.
