Dear Committee Members by Julie Schumacher

 Jason Fitger is an English professor at a second-tier college. The English Department is clearly not a priority for the college. He wants his ex-wife (who also works at the school) back. And while he comes off as a cranky curmudgeon, he really does care about his students. We learn all of this and more from the series of  (frequently hilarious) letters and memos that make up Dear Committee  Members.

This is part of a trilogy that I read totally out of order, not realizing it was a trilogy. The English Experience, the third in the series, is equally hilarious and touching at the same time.
