Your Sister's Sister (movie review)

Iris and Jack are best friends. Iris used to date Jack's brother, Tom. A year after Tom's death, Jack is floundering. Iris suggests that he go spend some time at her family's home on an island off the coast of Seattle to think and figure out what he wants to do with his life. When Jack gets there, he discovers that Iris's sister, Hannah, recovering from a broken romance, has also decamped to the island. After imbibing way too much tequila, Jack and Hannah end up in bed together--which makes things really interesting the next morning, when Iris unexpectedly shows up to check on Jack. Emily Blunt and Rosemary Dewitt look enough alike that they could be sisters--and they even give a plausible explanation why one has an English accent and the other doesn't. They have good chemistry together--as does Mark Duplass with both women. As the movie progresses, we learn more about each character and about their relationships with each other. It's a quiet little movie with likable characters--and the scenery is gorgeous. So if you need a break from super-hero movies this summer, check out Your Sister's Sister.
