Delicious by Ruth Reichl

If you're into food, Delicious is the book for you. Reichl  is a long-time food writer/editor and she knows whereof she speaks.

Billie Breslin has a one in a million palate that lets her immediately identify all the ingredients in any dish. She moves to NYC and lands a job as an assistant to the boss of Delicious magazine, located in a beautiful old mansion from the 1800s. She loves her job but one day, the magazine shuts down and she alone is retained to answer customer phone calls. While roaming around the empty mansion, she discovers a secret room and a stash of old letters written to chef James Beard by a young girl during WWII. She is also dealing with family issues, panic attacks at the thought of cooking (tied to those family issues), and the possibility of a little romance.

This charming book is guaranteed to make you hungry and to wish you  too could shop for delectables at Fontanari.
