Smooth Operator by Stuart Woods and Parnell Hall

I wonder if Stuart Woods has decided to permanently branch off from his popular Stone Barrington series. His newest tome, Smooth Operator, includes rich lawyer Stone but stars Teddy Fay, ex-CIA agent now living a new life as Billy Barnett in California.

When the Speaker of the House's daughter is kidnapped--and won't be released unless the Speaker supports a certain bill coming up for a vote--Stone calls in Teddy Fay for his unique expertise.
What at first seems like a possible terrorist attack is soon revealed to be much more complicated.

I actually liked this book more than some of the recent Stone books because it focused more on an actual thriller plot and less on Stone's romantic entanglements. It will be interesting to see where Woods goes next.
