Minor in Possession by JA Jance

I figured out how to download books from the library website--huzzah--which has greatly improved my access to reading material while hunkering down. Found an old PJ Beaumont novel that I had somehow missed and enjoyed it immensely.

Seattle cop, PJ "Beau" Beaumont has checked into a rehab facility in Arizona to get a handle on his drinking problem. He's assigned a smart-mouth kid as a roommate, who seems to ignore all the rules, is sleeping with several of the other patients, and may be dealing drugs from the facility. Then one night, roomy sneaks out and doesn't come back. When his body turns up, Beau becomes a prime suspect. And he has a hard time convincing the local police that he's innocent--and that someone may be trying to kill him too. It's a quick read and a good story if you're looking for a few hours of escape from these trying times.

Stay safe.
