Listen to Me by Tess Gerritsen

A Boston college student is the victim of a hit and run. A beloved nurse gets murdered. A girl went missing 19 years earlier when her mother was murdered in Maine. Jane Rizzoli and her partner Frost are trying to figure out how all these pieces of the puzzle fit together--or if they even do. At the same time, Jane's mother, Angela, keeps pestering her about the strange new couple that moved in across the street and a mysterious white van that keeps cruising by. Jane is distracted by her case but finally realizes she'd better investigate these strange goings-on.

It's quite the page-turner. I still laugh when I read the Rizzoli and Isles books then watch reruns of the TV show and see how different they are. I can't imagine the book Rizzoli and Isles ever sharing a beer or going shoe shopping.
