The Merlot Murders by Ellen Crosby

I finally found the first volume in the Virginia vineyard series at the library, to see how the saga started, Lucie Montgomery is living in France, recuperating from a bad car crash (in Virginia) that left her walking with a cane.  She gets a call from her brother that their father has died under somewhat murky circumstances. When she gets home for the funeral, the brother announces that they are selling the  vineyard, which has been in family for hundreds of years. When Lucie says no, she suddenly finds her life in danger. There are also subplots about a missing necklace that belonged to Marie Antoinette, the ex who was driving the car the night of her accident who suddenly wants to reunite, and Lucie's relationship with Quinn, the guy her father had hired to run the vineyard. This volume answered some of the questions that arose when I started reading the series with the most recent volumes.
