When in Rome by Sarah Adams

This is just the cute fluff I've been in the mood for on these cold and gloomy days of January.

Amelia is a popular singer, preparing to go on a 9-month international tour, and getting really burned out. One day she decides to emulate her hero (Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday) and take off for the nearest Rome--the one in Kentucky. Unfortunately her car breaks down en route, in front of the home of Noah, the town pie baker. He offers to help her but she is convinced he is an ax murderer and won't get out of her smoking car. He is worried that the car might blow up, so he enlists the aid of his elderly friend, Mabel, to convince Amelia that he is not an ax murderer. Amelia ends up staying in his guest room overnight --then for the 2 weeks that it takes to get the parts to fix her car.

Though the 2 are wildly attracted to each other, they're both fighting the attraction. Noah is recovering from his last breakup and Amelia knows she is leaving on tour for the next 9 months. But the longer she stays in Rome, the more it starts to feel like home. So what's a girl singer supposed to do?

I found this to be a delightful story, which I read in one day.
