Triptych by Karin Slaughter

Triptych is the first in the Will Trent series. Trent works for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He is     brought in on  a case involving a dead prostitute--a case that may be related to several other deaths. One of those deaths happened years earlier when a popular teenage girl was murdered and one of the other students from her high school was arrested for her murder.  He ends up in prison with what everyone assumes is a life sentence. But then he gets out on parole and tries to figure out who framed him for the murder. I love the character of Will Trent, who is quirky and dyslexic but with a brilliant deductive mind. I also love the character of Angie, an emotionally damaged cop who has been best friends with Will since they were kids in the foster care system--who knows Will is in love with her as much as she knows he would be better off without her.

I'm looking forward to catching up on these books--the basis for the new ABC TV show.
