One Way Back by Christine Blasey Ford

Christine Blasey Ford recounts her experience testifying before a Congressional committee about her sexual assault during a high school party at the hands of Brett Kavanagh--who had just been nominated for the Supreme Court. While she spends a little time discussing the assault, much of the book focuses on the impact of her testimony on her and her family for the next several years. She got regular death threats, had to hire security guards, had to leave the family home and move from hotel to hotel, and took a long leave from her university teaching job. She said she wrote the book to tell the truth about all the lies being spread about her after her testimony--some from strangers but sadly some from people she knew, including a disgruntled ex-boyfriend even though it had been years since their breakup. At one point, she met Anita Hill, who had gone through something similar years earlier (fortunately for her before the advent of social media),  who offered her own words of wisdom on persevering despite the trolls and naysayers.
