The One Day You Were My Husband by Rosie Walsh

Carrie is a surgical resident in England. One day, Handsome Swede Jonah arrives at the hospital with a victim of a hit and run. The two are instantly smitten and eventually end up dating. On a vacation to Thailand, the two decide to get married and do, but on the night of the wedding, Jonah is arrested. And Carrie's long nightmare begins. She can't get any information on why he was arrested and when she finally tracks him down in prison, he tells her to go back to England because her trying to get answers is making his situation worse. She eventually moves on with her life until years later, she finds out Jonah was pardoned and is back in Sweden. Then she is on a mission to get some answers. There are some interesting twists and turns in the last third of the book that I didn't see coming. A compelling tale and a good summer read.
