Hangman is the newest in the Peter and Rina Decker series by Faye Kellerman. Rina has always seemed a little too perfect to be real. But I like Peter, the 60-year-old LA cop who knows he should think about retiring one of these days but can't imagine what he'd do with himself if he did. There are two main cases. One involves a nurse who's found hanging in a house under construction. The other involves a woman from Peter's past who leaves her 14-year-old son in his care then vanishes off the face of the earth. Of course, Peter and his trusty right-hand gal Marge manage to unravel both mysteries. A good read for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
