Unnatural Acts by Stuart Woods

I was glad to see that Stuart Woods was back in top form with Unnatural Acts. His last couple of Stone Barrington books have been a little light on plot and centered mostly on lawyer Stone's bon vivant lifestyle. Oddly enough, this one focuses mostly on formerly supporting character (and Barrington client), Herbie (now Herb) Fisher. I thought it was a little strange that Herbie (now Herb) had metamorphosed from such a total screw-up to such a take-charge guy in such a short time. But I was glad to see that there were some good story lines here -- a concerned father worried about his possibly sociopath son, a brilliant female serial killer/former FBI agent on the loose, and a misogynistic Broadway publicist who may have gone beyond just harassing women. I was surprised that Stone's newly found son Peter, who was the focus of a recent book, was just a footnote in this story. But maybe Woods is saving him for a future plot.
