Good Enough to Eat by Stacey Ballis

Formerly fat Melanie has lost the weight, started a healthy-eating company and thinks life is good. Then her husband announces that he's leaving her--for a fat (former) friend of hers. So begins Good Enough to Eat, an entertaining summer read by Stacey Ballis. In favor of the book are a likable heroine and supporting cast, the Chicago setting, a plausible romance and some good recipes. Against the book is the tone from time to time, which comes off sounding like a motivational seminar on how to eat right. So if you can ignore the sections on how important it is to eat whole grains and not let one slip-up torpedo your whole nutrition regimen--and just get caught up in the plot--it's quick-read chick lit.
