The Wrong Man by David Ellis

I had just been hankering for a good legal thriller when I came upon the compelling The Wrong Man by David Ellis. It's part of his "Jason Kolarich" series but you don't have to have read the rest of the series to enjoy this page turner. Homeless man and former Iraqi War vet Tom Stoller has been accused of murdering young paralegal Kathy Rubinkowski. Attorney Jason Kolarich ends up taking over the case late in the game, intending to plead insanity. (His mostly incoherent client keeps flashing back to an incident in which he accidentally killed a girl during the war.) But eventually, he comes to realize that his client may in fact be innocent--and that something much bigger and more devastating may be involved. There was one big "twist" near the end that I had mostly figured out much earlier in the book, but it didn't lessen my enjoyment of the story one bit. Can't wait for the next "episode" in the Jason Kolarich saga.
