The Mystery of Mercy Close by Marian Keyes

I've read several other books by Marian Keyes and enjoyed them. But I have to say that I did not love
The Mystery of Mercy Close. The basic premise is this: Helen Walsh, a private investigator who is struggling financially due to the bad economy, is hired by her former boyfriend, Jay, to find a man named Wayne, who used to be a member of a popular boy band. The band has a series of reunion concerts scheduled and Wayne has vanished. If that had been the whole book, it would have been an okay mystery. But Helen is deep in the throes of depression and much of the book dwells on that. After a while, it was just depressing to read. I finally started skimming just to see if she ever found Wayne. If you're new to Marian Keyes, definitely skip this one and read one of her earlier books such as Watermelon or Sushi for Beginners.
