I loved this book. And I have recommended it to several people.
In a nutshell, Mary Ann Schwalbe is a little dynamo of a woman who, along with being a wife and mother, has done everything from acting and academic counseling to traveling the world in support of refugee causes.
One day, after returning from Afghanistan, she is feeling under the weather.When she finally goes to the doctor, she realizes that it's more than just a bug--she has advanced pancreatic cancer. Since she and her son Will both love to read, and are spending so much time in doctors' waiting rooms, hospitals and chemo centers, the two of them decide to form a 2-person book club.
