Manhattan lawyer and ladies man Stone Barrington gets a visit from a man recently released from prison and looking for some hypothetical legal advice about money possibly stolen during a major heist 25 years earlier. Soon, someone is targeting Stone, convinced he knows where the missing funds are. Then there's the new woman that Stone picks up at PJ Clarke's one night. She turns out to be a handful of trouble too. Standup Guy is a quick read and an entertaining story, especially if you're in the mood to escape to a world where people jet off to London on a moment's notice for a date or buy a new airplane for fun.
