The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman (redux)

I just reread this for book group and it was just as good the second time. It is such a well-constructed story. The setting is an international newspaper based in Rome. And the story is told through the lives of various people who are somehow associated with the paper--a stringer named Lloyd (who was once a hot shot but is now old and tired), the business editor, the managing editor, even a long-time reader. The characters seamlessly weave in and out of the other characters' stories, giving you a more complete picture of what's really happening. And in between the various character studies are chapters telling the history of the paper.
It's a fascinating read and a commentary on the sad state of newspaper publishing today.
