Table for Seven by Whitney Gaskall

What do you get when you take 2 married couples, a widower, a widow, and a ladies' man?
You get Table for Seven.  The 7 are friends and neighbors who decide to get together once a month for a fabulous dinner at the home of one member of the group. (The host/hostess alternates each month.) With each monthly dinner, we get to know more about the participants. And we soon see that all may not be well with the marriages of the two couples -- and there may be a romance blooming between 2 of the unattached people. There are also annoying ex-spouses popping up and bratty kids and too much work and not enough money. You know, modern life.

It's not the best book I've ever read. But the story moves right along and the dinners sound delicious.
