Paris Match by Stuart Woods

Stone Barrington, lawyer and bon vivant, is off to Paris for the opening of the Paris Arrington Hotel.
Of course, nothing goes as planned. Russian mobsters and a jealous French cop are out to get him. People keep trying to kill him. And it's hard to find his favorite brand of liquor in the City of Light. Life is hard. But Stone has friends in high places willing to protect him--and there always seems to be a beautiful woman around to comfort him (in this book, 3 different beautiful women at various parts of the story, which made me laugh. The guy is a middle-age lawyer with a bad knee, not Brad Pitt.)
Anyway, there are fancy dinners, private jets, major real estate purchases on the spur of the moment--a typical day in the life of Stone Barrington.

If you're just in the mood for escapist literature during this freakishly early cold spell in November, it is an entertaining way to spend a few hours.
