The A List by JA Jance

Back in her California newscaster days, Ali Reynolds did a story on a woman who was trying to find a kidney for her dying son. The woman had gotten pregnant through a fertility clinic and the clinic was refusing to give her records on the donor. The mother later found out that there were all kinds of misbehavior going on at the clinic--which eventually led to a murder. The murderer decides to get revenge on everyone who ruined his life--and Ali is on his list because she broadcast the story that set the whole thing in motion.

This story doesn't involve High Noon Enterprises as much as many of the other Ali Reyonds books do, though High Noon and Frigg (the artificial intelligence they acquired on an earlier case) do play a big role in the ending of the book. Good story though I do wish there had been more scenes with the High Noon crew.
