Someone Knows by Lisa Scottoline

The main characters in this story are a bunch of unhappy people. Allie's  beloved sister is dying of cystic fibrosis. Kyle and his mother have just moved to town to escape a scandal. David's father is in financial difficulties and verbally takes his stress out on David. Then there is rich boy Julian who is obsessed with and frustrated by Golden Girl Sasha, who has been pretty much raised by her family's housekeeper. Then one member of this group ends up dead and the death haunts the group for the next 20 years.

I will admit that I didn't really like the beginning of the book. Everyone was so unhappy and mean to each other. But about halfway through, it really picked up and by the last quarter it was quite the page-turner with some good twists and turns thrown in.

I'm hoping Lisa Scottoline's next book goes back to her female law firm series (Bennie, Mary, and the girls), because I love that series.
