Movie review: Linda Ronstadt: The sound of my voice

Linda Ronstadt was a huge singing star in the 70s and 80s--at a time when there were not a lot of women stars. She had an amazingly versatile voice and eclectic interests--from singing rock and country to operettas and traditional Mexican music. Sadly, she now has Parkinson's disease, which has robbed the world of her beautiful singing voice.

It's an interesting story to see how she started and how she became a huge hit so fast--and how she managed to stay so down to earth despite her fame. It's also fascinating to see how many other singers' paths she crossed--Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris, JD Souther, Glen Fry and Don Henley, to name but a few. While it doesn't go into great depth, it's worth seeing this documentary for the music alone.
