My Italian Bulldozer by Alexander McCall Smith

Work has been crazy busy lately so I was looking for total fluff to read and I found it in My Italian Bulldozer. Paul writes books about food and wine. He was just dumped by his live-in girlfriend (for her personal trainer, no less), so he heads off to Tuscany to finish a book he's writing on Tuscan cuisine. His editor, Gloria, who has a secret crush on Paul, arranges for a hotel and rental car, but when he gets to Italy, there is a major snafu with the car and he ends up renting a bulldozer, which he drives around the Italian countryside. While tooling around one day, he sees a car in a ditch. He helps the beautiful American girl who was driving and gives her a ride back to town on his bulldozer--and is immediately smitten. Paul is convinced his life is taking a happy new turn--when he hears from his ex that she's on the way Tuscany to see him--then hears from Gloria that she is also on her way to Tuscany. It's all very cute and charming, if you're just in the mood for a light end-of-summer book.
