The Lost Boys By Faye Kellerman

Lost Boys is the latest in the long-running Rina and Peter Decker series. I think I might have missed a book in this series because last I remember, the couple was moving from LA to New York state. And in this one, Peter is firmly established as a detective in a small town with a regular partner (Tyler), talking about cases they have worked together. Oh well.

Anyway, this one starts with a cognitively impaired man vanishing while on a field trip with the people from the facility where he lives. The cops scour the surrounding area but find no sign of him--however, they do uncover a long-buried body. So Peter and Tyler are trying to solve a new case and an old case at the same time. Ironically, they have more luck solving the old case, while the resolution of the new case is kind of left up in the air at book's end--when Peter and Rina are off on another life-changing adventure.

If you like the 2 main characters, you will like this book.
