The Man Who Died Twice by RIchard Osman

 This is the second in the charming Thursday Murder Club series featuring a group of retirees in a senior living facility in England. Elizabeth (ex government spook) unexpectedly hears from her long-ago ex, who tells her about a missing bag of diamonds worth 20 million pounds. Did he steal the diamonds? Does he know where they are? Hard to say, and it's made even more difficult when he turns up dead. Or is he?

Elizabeth and her pals--Joyce, Ron, and Ibrahim--along with local cops Chris and Donna set out to find the shooter and to locate the diamonds. It's an entertaining romp, with heartwarming examples of friendship. I especially loved the relationship between Ron's grandson, Kendrick, and Ibrahim, who is recovering from a mugging.
