The Lonelyhearts Book Club by L. Gilmore

Sloane is a librarian who loves her job. Arthur is a library patron who hates the world. They both enjoy their verbal sparring matches when he visits the library. But then Arthur stops coming and Sloane is worried. She goes to check on Arthur at his home and ends up losing her job because of it. But she ends up working as a sort of caregiver/ book collection sorter-outer for Arthur, who is recovering from a health crisis. Sloane also befriends his lonely next-door neighbor, Maisie (a psychic whose teenage daughter would rather live with her father and stepmother, which is breaking Maisie's heart). Then Arthur's grandson shows up. His mother has just died and she wanted him to keep an eye on her father. Then Sloan's coworker Mateo joins their merry band. As this quirky group bonds, they try to help each other find a good direction in life--which might not resemble the path they're currently on.

It's a sweet story with likeable characters and a nice message about friendship and finding your way.
