Bright Lights Big Christmas by Mary Kay Andrews

If you're in a holiday mood, this is the book for you. Kerry and her brother Murphy live in North Carolina, where the family grows Christmas trees. Every year, Murphy and his dad go to NYC for several weeks before Christmas to sell the trees. Kerry is a graphic designer who got laid off and had to move back in with her mom. But this year, Kerry has to accompany Murphy to NYC to sell the trees because of their father's poor health. They camp out in their very old camper nicknamed Spammy, which no longer has functioning plumbing or a kitchen. Kerry is not happy about spending weeks in Spammy with her grouchy brother, who is worried that they won't sell enough trees to keep the farm running. But she decides to apply her own creativity to their tree stand and sales start picking up. Then there's the cute divorced dad and his adorable young son who keep dropping by... suddenly the West Village is looking immensely more appealing.

It's kind of like reading a Hallmark movie, but it's a heartwarming story where people are nice to each other. And don't we all need that right now?
