The Celebrants by Steven Rowley

Let me preface this by saying I loved The Guncle by this same author. So I was looking forward to reading The Celebrants. But it took me a long time to get into the story and I didn't love most of the characters.

The Celebrants is reminiscent of the movie The Big Chill, about a group of Univ of Michigan friends who stayed friends over the years. In this case, the friends attended Berkley and didn't really stay close for many years, despite a pact they made after the death of one of their group during college. I guess my main problem with the story is that the characters weren't that interesting. If you're new to Steven Rowley, I would recommend the Guncle, which is a heart-warming story with fully realized characters.
