Clete by Jas Lee Burke

 I do love the way James Lee Burke describes Louisiana. You can almost smell the bougainvillea and feel the sweat dripping down your neck. Anyway, Clete brings back the characters of cop Dave Robicheaux and his best friend (former cop, now PI) Clete.The story starts with Clete dropping off his car at a car wash. That leads to someone coming to his home and ripping up the car, looking for something, though Clete has no idea what. He assumes drugs were stashed in his car, but the truth is even scarier, as are some of the people he and Dave encounter along the way as they try to solve the case and coincidentally save 2 women who have been kidnapped. If you like the rest of the Dave R series, you will like this one.
