The View From Lake Como by A Trigiani
Jess is living in her parents' basement after leaving the husband everyone assumed she'd marry since they were kids. She's working with her favorite uncle, Louie, in the family's marble (as in marble floors and bathtubs) business. But she feels like her life is in a rut. One day her uncle says the two of them are going to Italy, which has long been Jess's dream. But Louie has a health crisis and can't go. Will Jess finally take control of her life? And how will she deal with the FBI, who suddenly have her on speed dial? And will she ever find her true love?
The View from Lake Como is perfect for these waning days of summer. A likeable heroine. A little humor. A little sadness. Some beautiful marble. And some memorable locations--including both Lake Como, New Jersey and the Italian one.
